Equinox edition with Dave Bain
Coffee: Arabica or Robusta?
I have to admit that while I enjoy drinking coffee I don’t have a particular preference for how the bean is roasted. I’m not fussy and enjoy trying out different flavours and roast combinations.
How do you drink your coffee?
Probably too quickly. I start the day with an espresso and then often have an afternoon flat white in a cafe near to the studio.
What is your favourite coffee shop?
We’re lucky, in Bristol, to have so many fine coffee shops. I’m spoilt for choice. I love the quiet and down-to-earth nature of No. 12 in the Easton area or switching between the more specialist Full Court Press and Small Street Espresso - a stone’s throw from each other - on the side streets of Bristol’s Old City. Poco, which is opposite my studio is probably my most visited and is perfect for relaxing and people watching in Stokes Croft.
Any interesting projects coming up?
I’m just beginning a children’s book project telling the story of the founder of a play park for children with learning difficulties. I’m also managing a few group projects creating guides for parts of Bristol.
