We're constantly looking for interesting artists on Instagram. We will be introducing them every tuesday in a series called Introtuesday. Please meet London, United Kingdom based illustrator and designer AnnaDunn.
Whatare you working on at the moment?Today I’m working on a super cute children's book for Scholastic NY. It’s allabout love and involves drawing lots of kids, kittens, dogs, bees, and hearts -tough job but someone’s gotta do it!
What is your work process like? I usually begin a new project bygathering some reference images for the theme, colour etc, do a few crudedoodles to kind of plan stuff out and then get going on the computer. I likemaking images out of the simplest forms possible - using geometric shapes asthe basic structure for everything. I think I approach all projects in the samekind of way, but I guess there are usually a few more factors to consider whenworking for a client which will affect the finished piece.
Favorite work snack? I eat avocado mashed up with soy sauce on corncakespretty much everyday - doesn't look or sound great but is totally yum. I’malways trying to get other people to try it and they’re always like, ‘er, nothanks’ so this is a great platform for me to spread the word!
What do you do when you find yourself stuck in the creative process?Sometimes it’s best to go and do something else for a while and not think aboutwhatever you’re stuck on. Returning to a project with fresh eyes is always good- trying to force an idea or solution is the least productive thing you can do.
