We're constantly looking for interesting artists on Instagram. We will be introducing them every tuesday ina series called Introtuesday. Please meet Münster, Germany based illustrator Yeye Weller.
What are you working on at the moment? I'm working on a poster series for some small exhibitions in October. Finally I got some time to work on my own ideas, after a lot of boring client work in the last months. A few days ago I saw an interview with Niki de Saint Phalle and she doesn’t care what most of the other artists say about her work, she just wants to make the observer happy for a while. It sounds a little bit hackneyed, but that’s what it’s all about.
What is your work process like? My everyday struggle. Others already have lunch when I am still perfecting my colour palette. The process is always different, but picking colours is always the first thing I do. I am using my coloured pencils for inspiration, the classic way, and Photoshop for fine-tuning. Another great moment for being creative is lying in bed. Just me, my keyboard and coffee. Others mention nature or music as their biggest inspiration in life, but they’re all liars. There is nothing better than the internet.
Favourite work snack? After a hard weekend it is all about healthy drinks to get in the right mood, especially on Mondays. On a usual working day I just need a sandwich, milk and pickled gherkins.
Any special projects that you're excited about? The most excited project is always the next one. It doesn't matter how amazing the project is you’re working on, at some point you will reach the point where you just want to finish it and then you create an exciting anticipation for every upcoming boring job.
