We're constantly looking for interesting artists on Instagram. We will be introducing them every tuesday in a series called Introtuesday. Please meet Baltimore, United States based illustrator / artist Julianna Brion.
What are you working on at the moment? I'm working on a gig posterfor my brother's band.
What is your work process like? My client work and personal workdiffer in almost every way. My client work satisfies the perfectionist in me- Ilike clean lines and thoroughly planned out compositions. I usually do all theplanning and drawing stages by hand, and I end up coloring digitally for tightdeadlines. My personal work, on the other hand, is where I can be impulsive andmessy and allow myself complete freedom. When I was in school, I often worriedthat I had what appeared to be two different "styles", but I've cometo view it as a positive.
Favorite work snack? Apples with peanut butter. And black coffee isimperative.
Any personal projects on the side that you're excited about? I alwayshave a few paintings going, but I also recently decided to get back intosculpture. I have some pieces air-drying on my window sill right now, waitingto be painted. I'm also experimenting with some textile design, which I hopewill eventually be printed on silk!
