Giro d'Italia edition with Fonzy Nils
How did an Italian end up living in London? I decided to change my environment to find new inspiration, meet new people and to have an important experience in an interesting place. London being a versatile city with a very different culture seemed like a good choice.
Do you watch cycling? Ever been to a race? I can’t say that I’m a fan of cycling, I have seen a race occasionally but I don’t have a deep passion for this sport.
Oops, luckily we share our passion for coffee! How do you drink your coffee? For me, the only coffee is espresso.

Can you tell me a little about your work process for this Drip For Drip edition? Working on my illustration was a very fun experience as the theme was very particular and I haven’t never drawn something similar. I was thinking about how to express the theme of cycling with the catholicism and ended up drawing a priest on a bicycle, perhaps inspired by the memories of old movies I watched as a kid. I did a sketch and digitalized the illustration in Illustrator and Photoshop.
Anything interesting projects coming up? I’m working on some projects for clients in the United States and I’m developing some personal ideas.

Fonzy Nils is the portfolio of Alfonso Cirillo, an Italian artist living and working in London. We love his colourful characters, weird and impossible situations and how he puts the same amount of detail in his backgrounds as he does in his characters. He’s one of the illustrators with the ability to take the harshness out of vectors.
